POSITION DESCRIPTION
AREA: Lunch Supervisor
REPORTS TO: Principal (As Assigned)
SUMMARY OF ASSIGNMENT:
Provides administrative assistance to administrators and instructional personnel in teaching and promoting a positive learning and working environment. Under supervision, performs lunchroom supervision. Additionally, provides playground supervision when needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possesses high school diploma or its equivalent.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One or two years of post high school training
- Successful experience in working with children
- First aid/CPR training
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):
- Monitors and supervises students as assigned, including large group supervision for students in grades K-4 during their respective lunch.
- Demonstrates effective time management, organizational and record keeping skills.
- Demonstrates positive approaches and patience in working with students, associates, teachers, and parents.
- Builds self-confidence in students.
- Directs students into safe learning activities and functions, and assists in the shaping of appropriate social behaviors through the use of proactive, positive strategies and techniques.
- Provides written documentation of student misbehavior and maintains ongoing records of behavior patterns to assist school wide improvement efforts.
- Administers first aid to students and contacts office personnel, parents and emergency assistance agencies in the cases of serious illness or injury.
- Assists in maintaining an orderly, attractive, and positive learning environment in the lunchroom and on the playground.
- Participates as member of classified staff
- Communicate regularly with the Assistant Principal.
- Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Demonstrates ability to follow directives and performs a variety of assignments.
- Demonstrates consistency in expectations and has high expectations of self and others.
- Respects authority and carries out Board Policy.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Commands effective verbal and written skills.
- Acts as a positive role model to colleagues and students.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.
- Persons performing service in this position classification will exert up to 50 pounds of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
- This type of work involves standing and walking most of the time,, but may involve running.
- Perceiving the nature of sound, near and far visual acuity, depth perception providing oral information, the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment, and handling and work with various materials and objects are important aspects of this job.
- Exposure to hot, cold, wet, icy, humid, or windy conditions caused by weather may occasionally be experienced.

Employed for prescribed term, salary, benefits and other working conditions to be determined by District Policy, Federal and State Law as well as appropriate funding from state, federal, and/or passage of levies.
